A Tentative Guide of the Belize Barrier Reef Snorkel Adventure

Our Reef Adventure is an exciting way to learn a little about and see fishes in their colorful coral habitat, joyously going about their lives without caring that we, humans, exist. We do our best to point out the different varieties of fishes, coral, gorgonians, crustaceans, etc. Thereby giving a short synopsis of how the coral reef interacts as an ecosystem and hopefully we can learn from each other to love and respect nature for all its diversity and magnificence.

On this adventure we'll go exploring two or three different shallow coral reef due East South East of Ladyville Marina. These are areas seldom visited by crowds to the point many times, we're the only ones out there! We also will hopefully have time to visit the Mangrove under banks also known as the reef's nursery and see what is in this mysterious habitat. The walking mangroves are an exciting part of our private reef adventure.

For transparency we would like to point out: that this is an adventure and not just a "tour" -- We take the path less traveled and therefore there are no bathrooms, shops, restaurants, bars or anything else from civilization. Secondly, the shade on our panga is a small bimini top -- so, maximum Sun protection is a must to bring along. Thirdly, we do take along on our snorkel adventure, a life ring just in case someone gets tired; but we are never too far away from the boat. Fourthly, Our boat is a 25 foot panga type and is very practical for the area we go but it is a little rough riding and will wet you with sea water along the way.

Private Barrier Reef Snorkel Adventure's Basic Plan:

• 🌸 Our Basic Plan is flexible and is open to some editing --it's #notatour it's an Adventure
• 🌸 Leave around 8 a.m. after breakfast for Ladyville Marina in our private van

• 🌸 After a 30 minute van ride we Prepare and board our 25 foot panga aptly named "Monkeys in a boat":-)
• 🌸 Roughly we travel East South East for about an hour arriving at our furthest point on the barrier reef
• 🌸 We start gently in very shallow water for orientation so get a idea of the level of competency you have in the water
• 🌸 We then proceed to snorkel on the Lee side of the Barrier Reef for awhile exploring the intricacies of the coral reef
• 🌸 Some where around 12 p.m. we lunch / Snacks and a little relaxation
• 🌸 When we're ready we start looking for our next spot on the reef to explore while progressively getting a little closer to home
• 🌸 Later we decide if we want to explore a third spot on the reef or if we want to see the difference of the mangroves of course depending on time
• 🌸 Our target time to be back at the Ladyville Marina is somewhere around 3:30 or 4 p.m.
• 🌸 4:30ish - arrive back at Howler Monkey Resort

• 🌼 RASH GUARD OR DIVE SKIN are a must to prevent sunburn and irritations
