Lamanai & New River

Lamanai mayan site tour | photography of the maya ruins

This is the view of Lamanai maya site from on top the High Temple (100 feet high). Lamanai, "Submerged Crocodile", dates from around 900 B.C. to AD1544 which makes the longest known occupation of a mayan site. This is where the Spanish tried to convert the mayas to christianity by building a church on top of a Mayan temple (twice). The mayas destroyed it (twice). The Spanish never returned. Lamanai is famous for it's LARGE Stucco Masks. The New River or "Dzuluinicob" (meaning Foreign men) is the Jungle river conduit to get to Lamanai by boat jungle tour.

ATM CAVE

ATM Cave Actun Tunichil Mucnal cyrstal maiden

This is unarguably one of Belize's best inland adventure. It is the one adventure you must do when in Belize if you're the hike through cave/water, travel back in time kind of person. Amazingly the government officials opened the Cave to guided tours just as pristine as they found it with all the maya bowls, several skeletons, and tools. The cave is an extremely strenuous adventure, and therefore you must be in very good physical condition to participate, so much so you'll find yourself sleeping on the way back to the lodge but happy you can say you did it!

We do the transfers to and from the meeting point at Benge's.

You must purchase the ATM tour separately.

The Belize Zoo Tour

Harpy Eagle in The best little Zoo of Belize

The Belize Zoo is considered by many people to be the best little zoo in the world and is a sanctuary for damaged Belizean animals who can't defend themselves in the wild anymore. The Zoo has gone to great lengths to comfort the rescued animals with huge enclosures that trys to replicate their natural habitat. But...The beautiful part is... that the Belize Zoo then allows us a closer look and maybe even a close encounter with Belize's animals which we may not be lucky to see or permitted to encounter in the wild. We highly recommend a visit to the Belize Zoo.
